Summer in Morzine

If you like Morzine in winter, then you'll love it in summer! It's the same town but seems so different; bright flower displays spilling from every balcony, green pastures all round, colourful parapentes up in the azure sky, the tinkling of Alpine cow bells amongst the wild flowers up on the slopes. There's such a variety of activities and sports to try, ranging from the increasingly popular mountain biking and hiking to golf, parapenting, tennis, adventure parks, white water rafting and via ferrata. Many of these activities are suitable for families with children, which means that you can have an active and interesting summer holiday, keeping everyone happy! See below for a full list of summer sports.

25 Portes du Soleil ski lifts are open in the summer (click here for a summer map) enabling you to get up high for spectacular walking or mountain biking – in fact the whole Portes du Soleil circuit can be covered in a day on mountain bikes once you get up to intermediate level.

The summer has a much more laid-back feel; town bars and restaurants have sunny terraces spilling out onto the pavements, people have the time for a refreshing glass or rosé or beer in the warm summer evenings, BBQ scents fill the air, and the whole valley opens up to be discovered – there are wonderful mountain restaurants to try in places that you've never been to before!

Our summer programme reflects this laid-back feeling; our self-catered chalets and apartments are available for short stays, long weekends and non-standard change over days. Just contact us with your requirements and we'll see what we can do. Prices are much lower in the summer than the winter so it's totally possible to have a family or group holiday at reasonable cost.

The Multipass 2024

This is a superb way of making a summer activity holiday more affordable! If you are staying in participating accommodation (see below), for €3 per person per day (minimum 3 days)  you can benefit from the following facilities for free as often as you like, for the duration of your holiday! For more information see Multi pass info.  You can also download the Multipass activity Guide. The Multipass operates this year from 15th June to 8th September (NB some activities may not be operational after 1st September).

  • Swimming pool (Morzine)
  • Swimming lake (Les Gets)
  • All the functioning summer lifts (as a pedestrian)
  • Tennis courts (3 x asphalt courts)
  • Ice rink
  • Local bus service (Balad'Aulps, St Jean d'Aulps > Morzine > Les Gets)

Plus there are numerous reductions of 20% in shops, other participating activities and services across the whole of the Portes du Soleil.

The MultiPass does not cover the use of the lifts for mountain bikers, however if you are staying in a participating accommodation and you are buying a Mountain Bike Lift pass (prices below), you are entitled to have a free MultiPass for the equivalent duration.

How does it work? We have a document we can send you giving full details of how the Multipass works. This is sent out to all bookings once their balance payment is made / 8 weeks before arrival, but you can send us a message and we'll send it to you.
